Dydy fy Serissa ddim wedi marw. Eto.
Llofruddies i fy bonsai diwetha, Acer Japonica. Ffriodd e yn y haul haf poeth y llynedd, a syrthiodd deilen i gyd. Gutted iawn roeddwn i.
Felly, Nadolig diwetha, prynodd fy Nhad bonsai newydd imi - Serissa, Tree of a Thousand Stars. Mae’n hyfryd iawn - yn y steil ‘exposed root’ ac efo dail bach gwrdd… a melyn. Dydy e ddim supposed i gael dail melyn o gwbl. Poenes i fy mod i’n rhoi gormod o ddwr iddo fe, neu rhywbeth, felly chwilies i am help ar y we. Darganfyddes i hyn rhywle ar y we (alla i ddim yn darganfod yr un tudalen nawr, wrth gwrs):
Serissa is a notoriously fussy bonsai. The good news is that they aren't that hard to keep alive. But considering that most people buy Serissa on impulse because the plant is so spectacular at the store, the bad news is bad indeed.
The plant will generally drop its flowers within a day or two. Then the plant will drop its leaves. If the grower doesn't panic (and many Serissas are inadvertantly killed by panicing beginners who respond by drastically over/underwatering the plant) the plant will soon regrow its leaves. A power struggle then ensues. The grower soon discovers that the Serissa drops its leaves if it has too much water. Too little water. If it's too hot or too cold. If it's moved, or there is a shift in lighting or temperature. If you cough near it or use a vulgarity in its presence. If it doesn’t like your looks.
Until someone develops Serissa subliminal motivation tapes, (the calming sound of waves upon the shore as voices whisper, "You are lush; you are green; you want to keep your leaves…") the ugly truth is that some growers develop a knack for the foibles of the Serissa, while others are doomed to wait hand and foot upon a plant which looks like it’s auditioning for a role in Les Miserables. Bendigedig. Doomed dw i…

visual tinnitus
Dw i’n meddwl fy mod i’n cael ‘visual tinnitus’ - h.y. dw i’n gweld pethau sy ddim yna… paid â phoeni - nid pobl neu llewod neu pethau mawr, ond pethau bach. Mae ‘na distributed computing application gan United Devices ar fy nghyfrifiadur ar hyn o bryd. Mae e’n gweithio ar gancer:
Think is a computer-aided drug design program that models interaction between protential drug molecules and a target protein that is involved in the growth of cancer. Finding positive interactions between molecule and protein could lead to a cure. Pan mae’r application wedi gorffen, mae e’n dangos exclamation mark melyn ar y icon yn y systray. Wedyn dw i’n gwybod i connect i’r we a mae’r application yn danfon a derbyn data o’r main servers. Ond, dw i’n dal i weld yr exclamation mark melyn pan dydy e ddim yna. Visual tinnitus, dw i’n meddwl…
